Barbara Stankowski is a retired naval officer and an experienced serial entrepreneur. Her 28 years in the U.S. Navy included more than seven years in command of large, diverse, geographically distributed shore-based commands.
She is the recipient of numerous awards for leadership, corporate growth and business success. Her company, AMTIS Inc., was named to the Inc. 5000 for six consecutive years. Barbara sold AMTIS in 2018 and established Stankowski Advanced Strategies in 2020. Based in Johnson City, Tenn., Stankowski Advanced Strategies provides consulting and coaching services to help small-business owners establish infrastructure and a culture that drives success. As a leader development expert, coach, speaker and facilitator, Barbara focuses on positive and engaging corporate cultures.
In addition to running Stankowski Advanced Strategies, Barbara currently serves on GrowFL’s advisory board, is a member of the Edward Lowe Foundation’s American Academy of Entrepreneurs and serves on the board of Tech Sassy Girlz, which empowers middle and high school girls to pursue STEM fields through college preparation, career readiness, mentoring and entrepreneurship.
Barbara is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and the Naval Postgraduate School.
